What is the GED?

The GED is a battery of tests consisting of a written essay, as well as multiple-choice tests of Language Arts Writing, Language Arts Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics.  The GED instructional program will prepare you for success on the GED tests that measure academic skills that correspond to those of recent high school graduates. To pass the tests, individuals must achieve scores that are comparable to those attained by the top 70 percent of a recent sample of the nation's graduating high school seniors.

What does the GED cost?

The rate is $70.00.  The re-take cost for individual tests is as follows:

GED Test in Spanish

The GED certificate, which is recognized by all states as the equivalent of a high school diploma, can be earned by taking the GED test in Spanish.

GED preparation classes are offered in Spanish at Forest Hill Community High School, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and are free of charge.

What is GED Fast Track

The GED Fast Track program is designed for adults who have the necessary academic skills to take the GED Tests but need to improve specific skills in order to be successful.

The course will provide the opportunity to take the Official GED Practice Test and focus on targeted skills that will increase your chances of success on the GED Tests, including test-taking strategies and the use of the scientific calculator.
