Literacy AmeriCorps Service Opportunity – Mentor, Tutor, Graduation Coach — The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County is now accepting applications for Literacy AmeriCorps Members dedicated to serving the community and helping others. Literacy AmeriCorps members provide tutoring and mentoring services to at-risk youth and adults at elementary schools, high schools, libraries, and other partner sites throughout Palm Beach County. Members serving full-time* receive a living allowance (stipend) of up to $33,004 and are eligible for health benefits. Members who successfully complete a full term of service also receive an education award of up to $6,895.

In addition to making a difference in the community, Literacy AmeriCorps Members engage in meaningful professional development and training opportunities throughout the term of service. This opportunity is ideal for recent college graduates and/or college students taking a gap year who are interested in gaining valuable work experience while also making a positive impact on the community. Members build their resumes with experience in education, ESOL, coaching, tutoring and mentoring, making them desirable candidates for future employment opportunities. Village Readers Family Education Program Coordinator — The Literacy Coalition is seeking a part-time evening program coordinator to work with adult ESOL students – coordinating program enrollment, coordinating and administering language proficiency tests and providing career coaching in a family literacy program located in a Delray Beach elementary school. Volunteer and Community Outreach Manager — The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County is seeking a full-time position to implement and manage all aspects of volunteer activities within the organization. Responsible for recruitment, assignment, scheduling and retention of volunteers for specific programs, projects and events. Assists in the marketing and promotion of literacy to the public at large. Plans volunteer recognition and appreciation events and activities.
