Regional Training Council–Region V (RTCV)
The Regional Training Council (RTCV) provides quality professional development to tutors and teachers of adult education. RTCV serves Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach Counties in partnership with the Florida Department of Education, the four county school districts, library systems, area colleges and community based organizations.
In 2009 – 2010, more than than 1,363 participants attended 52 professional development workshops.
Through workshops, offered at no charge to the participants, adult education practitioners learn the most current best practices, strategies, curriculum and standards to help them in the administration and teaching of adult learners. Workshop topics have included: Adult Education for Tomorrow, Learning Styles for Adult Education, Creative Classroom Techniques for Low Literacy Adult Learners, American Accent Training, Technology in the Classroom, Fun with GED Math and Listening skills for the ESOL Classroom.
