Communications & Special Events Coordinator:

The Literacy Coalition is looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, problem-solver to join our team to provide communications support, graphic design, editorial and administrative assistance, service coordination and public awareness promotion for literacy programs and events. Work schedule is as follows: generally, Monday through Friday 9 am – 5 pm with some evening or weekend work especially in event season fall through spring.

Job Overview:

Designs consistently branded print and digital marketing collateral for literacy programs, events, campaigns and promotions including annual reports, electronic and traditional print pieces, bookmarks and brochures; Assists with the coordination and organization of literacy events and initiatives; Provides technology for Coalition programs and assesses computers, network server, phone system, etc. while working with our IT consultants/vendors to maintain systems.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

–Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
–Advanced computer knowledge, graphic design skills and experience required.
–Working knowledge of software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign required.
–Effective and excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
–Multi-tasking, organizational and planning skills required.
–Demonstrated ability to work as a team leader and effectively collaborate with community resources.
–Position requires some travel in the local area. Must have a reliable vehicle, and requires maintaining a valid Florida State drivers’ license with a satisfactory driving record and eligibility for coverage under any applicable agency insurance.
–Ability and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development activities in order to keep current on new developments in the field and to enhance skills already maintained.
