The milestone event brought together supporters from across the community to advance literacy and educational success for thousands of local children and adults.

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., – The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County raised more than $50,000 to support literacy programs for adults and children countywide at the 10th annual Literacy Links Golf Tournament on May 15, 2026, at the Palm Beach Par 3.

Literacy Coalition board members Caleb Bowser and Nancy Vera co-chaired the tournament, and committee members included Travis Foels, Nancy Haviland, Adam Hodges and Valrie Martin Buchanan.

Sponsors for the golf tournament included Brenda Medore and Leanne Adair, an anonymous donor, Lennar, Publix Super Markets Charities, The Palm Beach Post, Akerman LLP, Allstate – David Beaumont, Atherton Galardi Mullen & Reeder LLC, Cozen O’Connor, Jones Foster, Paul & Faith Meyer, Sully Colon, Truestrike and Ed Morse Automotive Group.

“This event funds the Coalition’s critical programs which provide links to literacy for so many children and young people struggling to learn to read in our community,” said CEO Kristin Calder. “We appreciate the sponsors and participants who have continued to support this effort over the past decade,” she added.

The Men’s/Co-Ed First Place Team consisted of Anthony Greco, Steve Marino, Bob Russell and Nicone Gordon. The Women’s First Place Team was Debbie DeHoog, Lisa Jarnot, Mary DeMayo and Emily Spiteri of NCCI. The Men’s/Co-Ed Second Place Team consisted of: Greg Zinkil, Ian Bacheikov, Nick Barshel and Dennis Kerbel of Akerman, LLP. The Women’s Second Place Team featured Brenda Medore, Leanne Adair, Casey Syring and Janet Donovan. The Closest to the Pin Men’s winner was Nick Barshel, who hit a hole-in-one. The Closest to the Pin Women’s winner was Lisa Jarnot.
