2025 Adult Learner Essay Reception
The Coalition and the School District’s Adult & Community Education Department hosted the 27th year of the Adult Learner Essay Initiative on November 13 to celebrate the thousands of adult students in the county. Adult students wrote essays with the choice of topic: “My Dream For My Future”, “A Turning Point in My Life”, “My Favorite…” or “Original Fiction”.
Community volunteers read the essays and offered feedback to the students. Journalist Carlos Mahecha emceed the recognition event, which was attended by teachers, students and administrators of Adult Education programs. Selected students read their essays to the audience.
