Children’s Literacy Programs in Palm Beach County

Our children’s literacy programs in Palm Beach County, provide early literacy skills to children while promoting verbal interaction, parent-child bonding and school readiness to engage and inspire children to become life-long readers. We recruit and train volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with students throughout the county.

“Those who work to help children become fluent and joyful readers are, in my opinion, doing the same essential work as medical doctors who help their patients breathe.”
–Timothy Rasinski, Ph.D., professor of literacy education at Kent State University

“I moved to Florida several years ago and wanted to get involved. I tried several different volunteer positions, but just never felt satisfied. I didn’t feel needed. I’ve finally found my place. This is so rewarding. I find myself thinking about ‘my children’ regularly.”
–Aileen Moskowitz, Building Better Readers Tutor, Rolling Green Elementary School, Boynton Beach

Read With Me!

Volunteers read one-to-one with kindergarten school students at five (5) local schools throughout the county. Volunteers and students will share the selected book and activity, and then the students will get to keep the book and activity to take home.
