Holy Cross Catholic Preschool & Center's Literacy Program offers a variety of classes to promote Literacy, Technology and Life Skills to both adults and children. The center serves over 65 adult students and helps them obtain their personal, academic and career goals. The goals of these programs are to encourage the educational advancement for adults to find meaningful jobs, financial security and improve the quality of family life. By being empowered through education, those who are served can become mentors or role models themselves, as well as becoming productive citizens.

Classes being offered as part of the Holy Cross Literacy Program are: English as a Second Language, Adult Literacy, Computer Skills, Citizenship and After School Homework Helper.

Holy Cross Literacy Program has a very warm, family friendly atmosphere, making it a very comfortable place to learn. The student population is mostly Hispanic and speak Spanish. Most of the students they serve have left their countries to seek better economic and political opportunities, and they need to learn English to improve their quality of life in America.

The Center is a very positive place to learn. The Literacy Coordinator, Ms. Juliana Lewis, and teachers are caring and professional. Students appreciate the opportunities that the Center provides, the volunteers feel deeply appreciated and everyone works as a team to help each other succeed.
