Literacy Coalition Earns Coveted 4-Star Rating from Charity Navigator for 12th Consecutive Year

Boynton Nonprofit Outperforms Most in America

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., Jan. 22, 2021 – The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County is celebrating a distinguished honor. The Boynton Beach nonprofit has earned a 4-out-of-4-star rating from Charity Navigator for the 12th consecutive year. With more than 1.5 million American charities, Charity Navigator aims to accentuate the work of efficient and transparent organizations. Only 1% of the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator have accomplished this exceptional designation!

Charity Navigator is the nation’s largest and most-utilized evaluator of charities. Its ratings are equal to an Oscar in the nonprofit sector. Charity Navigator’s rigorous rating system examines a charity’s financial health and accountability and transparency. The company provides these ratings so that donors can make giving decisions with greater confidence. The rating system shows givers:

  • How efficiently a charity uses givers’ support
  • How well a charity sustains its programs and services
  • A charity’s commitment to good governance, best practices and openness with information
  • A charity’s trustworthiness

“The Literacy Coalition is proud to again receive this high honor for a dozen years now in recognition of our steadfast effort, our efficient management, and our profound commitment to our mission and the community,” said Kristin Calder, CEO of the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County.

Charity Navigator is a nonprofit and accepts no funding from the charities it evaluates. Additionally, it does not charge users for its trusted data. More than 11 million donors visit CharityNavigator.org annually to help them make an informed giving decision.
