BOYNTON BEACH, Fla., Oct. 14, 2021 – Bestselling author Michael Connelly has been a big draw for the Literacy Coalition’s Love of Literacy Luncheon — so much so that the November 16 event at the Kravis Center has sold out. To accommodate more attendees, the Coalition is adding an online component to the annual fundraiser.
Michael Connelly fans can tune in to an online event sponsored by Bank of America on the same day as the in-person Love of Literacy Luncheon. Local film historian and New York Times bestselling author Scott Eyman will host a discussion with Connelly, known for his crime novels featuring mainstay characters Harry Bosch, Mickey Haller, and Renèe Ballard. His newest novel, The Dark Hours, hits shelves on November 9. Tickets for the online event are $35 and can be purchased at www.literacypbc.org or by texting LOLL30 to 76278.
Connelly has penned 36 novels. With more than 80 million copies of his books sold worldwide and translated into 40 foreign languages, he is one of the most successful writers today. Connelly is also the executive producer of Bosch, Amazon’s longest-running original series. His Mickey Haller series novel The Lincoln Lawyer and his 1998 book, Blood Work, were both made into movies. And coming soon, The Lincoln Lawyer will be adapted as a TV series on Netflix. Additionally, Connelly is the creator and host of the podcast Murder Book and is executive produced the documentary films, Sound of Redemption: The Frank Morgan Story and Tales of the American.

We’re grateful to him for playing a role in what is one of our most successful Love of Literacy Luncheons yet.”
The Luncheon, co-chaired by Literacy Coalition board members Bernadette O’Grady and Debra Ghostine, funds programs provided by the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County. These programs provide literacy skills to children, adults, and families to help them succeed in school and in life. The Coalition’s goal is to ensure every adult and child in Palm Beach County can read.
